Responsibilities
- Act as the EE technical lead for product safety certification on BMS PCBAs, specifically driving strategies to pass UL 991
- Architect, write, and execute end-to-end automated test plans for functional testing
- Design and assemble physical, automated test fixtures to interface with PCBAs under test, focusing on fault injection
- Generate rigorous test reports, maintain traceability matrices, and collaborate on Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA)
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot and root-cause hardware issues identified during testing
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results in accordance with product verification standards
- Support design verification reviews and contribute to test readiness and completion criteria
- Ensure tests are conducted in compliance with safety protocols and relevant industry standards
Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience in PCBA hardware testing
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience navigating products through UL certification pipelines (UL 991, UL 1998, or IEC 61508 / ISO 13849)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience using Python to write automated test scripts
- Hands-on experience with test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers
- Demonstrated ability to manage test plans and execute verification activities
