About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, simulation, development, implementation, verification and validation of analog, digital, and power electronics-based systems for downhole applications
- Apply traditional downhole tool practices for innovative millimeter wave (MMW) drilled well and Super-Hot Rock (SHR) geothermal products
- Work with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, RF scientists, and drilling operators
- Coordinate fabrication, installation, and testing activities to ensure conformance to engineering specifications
- Provide technical support to field operators, scientists, and engineering teams regarding electrical systems
- Conduct lab experiments, design test plans, execute tests, and write detailed reports
- Design and develop custom electronic circuits including signal conditioning, filtering, control logic, and power supplies
- Utilize software tools for circuit design, schematics, PCB layouts, and simulations
- Fabricate and test working prototypes through wiring, soldering, and assembly
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with technical leadership in electronic design or architecture
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and circuit analysis
- Experience with embedded systems development, programming, and deployment (MCU, DSP, FPGA)
- Proficiency with electronic schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium Designer)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, LabView, VHDL, or C
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, or crouching
- Ability to travel to various job sites and locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Experience working within high voltage safety environments
- Experience with high temperature electronics manufacturing (SOI, SiC)
- Expertise in high temperature electronic testing practices (350C and beyond)
- Experience with high voltage assemblies and modulation protection circuits
