About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify quality and reliability risks by analyzing part construction to ensure components meet mission-critical standards
- Collaborate with design engineers to guide component selection and ensure compliance with Astranis standards
- Plan, execute, and oversee component-level screening and qualification testing
- Review bills of materials for new designs to ensure the use of approved flight parts
- Manage component supplier part change notifications (PCNs) and drive appropriate technical responses
- Execute tear-downs on critical components to assess part quality and reliability
- Interface with supply chain, design, and manufacturing teams to resolve sourcing challenges
- Manage the approved parts list within the PLM system to support engineering and manufacturing teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
- Experience in electrical design, including components, circuits, PCBs, or electronic assemblies
- 5+ years of experience in part quality, reliability, failure analysis, and/or DPA
- Familiarity with JEDEC, AEC-Q, and MIL component standards
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supply chain, purchasing, or manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for electronic components
- Proficiency in non-destructive and destructive lab analysis techniques
- Experience in reliability statistics and data analysis
