About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain EBW procedures and supporting documentation (WPS/PQR) in compliance with AWS, ASME, and API standards
- Develop and execute weld qualification plans, including test coupons and validation trials
- Oversee EBW inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards
- Analyze weld test data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize EBW processes and efficiency
- Partner with design engineers and production teams to integrate EBW into manufacturing workflows
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to welding technicians and operators
- Ensure performance and reliability of EBW systems, including high-vacuum chambers and power supplies
- Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade initiatives for EBW equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of welding engineering experience
- Substantial hands-on experience in Electron Beam Welding (EBW)
- Experience with weld inspection methods (destructive and NDE)
- Experience working with austenitic stainless steels, carbon steels, piping systems, and pressure vessels
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T
- Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and AWS standards
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cross-functional projects or mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with manual and CNC machining operations
