Senior Electromechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and calibrate custom electromechanical equipment and automated systems from CAD models and electrical schematics
• Support engineers and scientists in rapid prototyping of test stands, fixtures, and experimental setups
• Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, and component mounting for automation panels and instruments
• Participate in integration, bring-up, and debugging of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and optical automation subsystems
• Execute maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and alignments on complex equipment
• Provide real-time feedback to engineering teams regarding design improvements
• Maintain documentation on builds, repairs, and troubleshooting

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in electro-mechanical technology, mechatronics, or related field
• Advanced skill in mechanical assembly and electrical diagnostic work
• Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD models and 2D electrical schematics
• Familiarity with PLCs, motor controllers, actuators, and sensors
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, fluid, or thermal systems
• Knowledge of industry safety procedures (LOTO, OSHA)

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years in automation, manufacturing, robotics, or laboratory environments
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD modeling tools
• Experience assembling control panels and wiring PLCs
• Experience in a cleanroom or regulated R&D context
• Certifications such as CMRT or OSHA 10/30
