About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform EMP research, analysis, requirements definition, assessments, and test and evaluation
- Assess the impacts of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and EMP on shipboard configurations and systems
- Conduct EMP risk impacts and mission analysis, including High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) effects
- Develop technical and operational conclusions and author technical reports to meet sponsor requirements
- Plan and participate in MIL-STD 461 testing at the Naval Ordnance Transient Electromagnetic Simulator (NOTES) facility
- Participate in EMP testing for Low Level Continuous Wave (LLCW) technology demonstrations, including data acquisition and analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- 12 years of subject matter expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Naval Architecture
- 7 years of experience in Research, Development, Test, Engineering, or Integration related to warfare or electronic systems
- Demonstrated experience in RF/Microwave Engineering, EMP, E3, EMI, EMC, E3 Computation, RF Simulation, or Pulse Current Injection (PCI) testing
- Active Top Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
