Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of electrical subsystems to ensure alignment with machine requirements
- Define, maintain, and own system and subsystem requirements with clear traceability
- Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for electrical, controls, and mechanical interfaces
- Lead verification planning and execution to ensure requirements are met through testing
- Perform hands-on hardware bring-up and troubleshooting to resolve issues across electrical and controls systems
- Drive collaboration across electrical, controls, mechanical, and test teams
- Own the integration of new hardware and subsystems during development and commissioning
- Drive system documentation, design reviews, and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in electrical systems engineering, integration, test, or hardware development
- Proven experience leading system or subsystem architecture
- Experience developing technical requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Expert ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Extensive hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and troubleshooting using lab instrumentation
- Experience applying system safety and reliability methods like FMEA or FMECA
- Demonstrated experience driving work across cross-disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Experience working with hardware suppliers or external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or energy systems
- Expertise with large-scale electrical hardware, power distribution, and controls integration
- Knowledge of high-voltage or high-current electrical systems, grounding, and EMI/EMC
- Experience with requirements management or PLM tools (Flow, Jama, DOORS, Teamcenter, or Confluence)
- Experience leading system-level integration testing and data analysis
- Familiarity with electrical interconnect systems and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
