Senior Electrical Officer

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical teams and implement strategic initiatives focused on compliance, technical support, and training
• Manage and participate in high-voltage (HV) access and HV switching operations
• Act as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) to ensure compliance with AS/NZS Electrical Standards and legislative requirements
• Consult with regional leadership to drive improvements in electrical safety and evolving standards
• Assist project teams during the design process to ensure alignment with operational requirements
• Audit completed works to verify compliance with company standards and operational needs
• Provide technical direction, asset management advice, and analytical support to optimize infrastructure performance
• Support fault response activities by diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in electrical infrastructure planning, construction, and maintenance
• HV Switching Operator qualification
• HV Coordination Qualification
• Demonstrated experience with PLC and SCADA systems
• Proven practical project and contract management skills
• Ability to obtain Qualified Technical Person (QTP) status
• Ability to work a 1 in 2 roster, including weekend work, and travel to distant assets
