About the role
Responsibilities
- Safely perform removal, repair, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems
- Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation including flow meters, sensors, transmitters, and analyzers
- Perform advanced electrical and control system troubleshooting and root-cause investigations to minimize downtime
- Execute loop checks, signal testing, and I/O checkout during commissioning and maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, motors, and AC/DC drives
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Support the operation and maintenance of industrial rectifier systems and DC power distribution
- Assist with configuration and limited programming support for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS platforms
- Maintain accurate documentation including calibration records, wiring diagrams, and as-built updates
- Mentor or train junior electrical and instrumentation personnel
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of industrial electrical/fixed plant experience OR a relevant certification with 4-6 years of experience
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and technical manuals
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
- Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, and process control systems
- Experience with 480-volt motor control switchgear and controls
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with medium-voltage equipment
- Experience working in chemical or metallurgical processing environments
