Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader for multiple simultaneous design projects, reporting to the Engineering Director.
• Lead the design of building electrical plans, including equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, lighting plans, and fire alarm plans.
• Coordinate cross-discipline design activities with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams.
• Perform modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems using IEEE compliant tools.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, panelboards, and variable frequency drives.
• Prepare site analysis reports and perform site surveys using electrical safety equipment.
• Provide construction administration services and interact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 10-15+ years of engineering experience in building design and the construction industry.
• 5+ years of experience as a project manager or primary engineering lead.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US.
• Proficiency in electrical modeling tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EZ-Power.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, and 72 standards.
• Familiarity with REVIT and BIM workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, data centers, or mission-critical facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, and lighting control systems.
