About the role
Responsibilities
- End to end ownership of hardware for robotics and motor control applications
- Drive architecture decisions to advance control algorithms using FPGA and Micro-Controller systems
- Develop PCBA requirements and perform design verification and system integration testing
- Own environmental tests including EMI/EMC, TVAC, Shock, and Vibe
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Provide oversight and mentorship to support engineers
- Support production manufacturing and failure analysis/root-cause investigation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years of electrical hardware design experience (Level I) or 8+ years (Level II)
- Experience in PCBA design with FPGAs
- Experience in motor control applications and analog signal chains
- Proficiency in circuit analysis using SPICE
- Proficiency with board bring-up and debug
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- FPGA firmware design with Verilog
- Experience with Field-Oriented-Control and switch mode power supplies
- Experience designing electronics for space environments (radiation mitigation)
- Experience with Altium Designer, Librero, or Simulink
- Experience with FMEA and rigid-flex PCB design
