About the role
About the Company
Rhoda AI is building the next generation of generalist intelligent robots. We own the full robotics stack from high-performance hardware and robot systems to the infrastructure and state-of-the-art foundation world models that control our robots.
Responsibilities
- Architect power solutions from scratch including LDOs, buck/boost converters, and PMICs
- Manage multi-rail systems with robust power sequencing
- Implement communication over I2C, SPI, and CAN
- Design safe and efficient Battery Management Systems (BMS) and chargers
- Perform battery characterization including chemistry, charge curves, and aging
- Manage the full design cycle from schematic and simulation to bring-up, debug, and shipping
- Collaborate closely with firmware, systems, and mechanical engineering teams
Requirements
- Deep intuition for LDOs, buck/boost topologies, and PMICs
- Experience with complex power sequencing on multi-rail boards
- Proficiency with I2C, SPI, and CAN protocols
- Solid experience with BMS and battery chargers
- Hands-on laboratory experience with scopes, e-loads, and source meters
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
- 4+ years of professional work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving BLDC motors and understanding field-oriented control
- Familiarity with EtherCAT
- Experience working with encoders and torque sensors in power electronics contexts
