About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in executing engineering best practices focused on improving product value and cost savings.
  • Engineer enhancements for embedded system designs, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and microcontroller firmware.
  • Lead small to medium-sized teams of electrical engineers in the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics.
  • Design and qualify new designs to meet applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
  • Use laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach junior engineers to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedules and established business metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of electronics.
  • Proficiency with engineering design tools such as Altium (PCB Design), MCU Compilers, Debuggers, and SPICE.
  • Experience using mixed-signal oscilloscopes and other laboratory testing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze designs for cost reduction and write detailed test plans.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for domestic and international requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Practical background in portable electronics, Li-Ion Battery Management, or power electronics.
  • Experience with consumer electronics or instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Previous experience in mentoring and technical leadership roles.
