Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in the research, design, and development of products for the electric power generation, transmission, and distribution industry
• Provide architectural oversight and develop design specifications for hardware design and enhancements
• Develop schematics, perform part selections, and supervise board layouts
• Run simulations to evaluate designs and perform debugging and bring-up of new boards
• Work with software engineers to refine interfaces between different assemblies and perform system integration
• Develop board test fixtures and troubleshoot test equipment problems
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain existing products, including addressing part obsolescence

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in circuit design and circuit layout
• Experience with Microprocessor designs and FPGA development (Verilog)
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE, PSIM, or ModelSim
• Strong understanding of signal integrity concepts, analog measurement, and filtering

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA development tools (ISE and Vivado)
• Experience with Mentor Graphics DXDesigner and Cadence Allegro layout tools
• Basic knowledge of Linux and firmware development (C/C++)
• Familiarity with MATLAB and PC software/tool development
• Knowledge of design for EMC compliance
