About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical schematics for automotive, off-road, and defense applications, incorporating SoCs/MCUs, power systems, and memory components.
  • Design boards utilizing high and low-speed digital interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, USB, and automotive interfaces like CAN and LIN.
  • Oversee PCB layout to ensure compliance with DFx standards, thermal, mechanical, and reliability constraints.
  • Create detailed component block diagrams and manage engagement with PCB/PCBA vendors for fabrication and assembly.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and system integration teams to ensure successful platform bring-up and validation.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate design performance and document technical results.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on hardware design experience with a strong grasp of digital interfaces (PCIe Gen 3.0/4.0/5.0, Ethernet, DDR, LPDDR, USB, etc.).
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Skilled in using laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and network analyzers.
  • In-depth understanding of PCB manufacturing, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for clear documentation and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience building automotive, robotics, or real-time hardware systems with safety constraints.
  • Experience with high-volume production of hardware products.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer.
  • Experience designing circuits for cameras or displays.
  • Participation in hands-on engineering programs such as Formula SAE or Formula Electric.
