About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, layout, and validation of PCBs for power distribution, motor drivers, embedded systems, and sensor integration
  • Architect and optimize power distribution and battery systems to support high-performance actuators and real-time compute workloads
  • Develop and refine lithium-ion battery systems and high-efficiency system power architectures
  • Ensure EMI/EMC compliance, signal integrity, and thermal design best practices for high-reliability electronics
  • Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers on real-time control strategies and thermal management solutions
  • Define electrical architecture for real-time control, networking, and system diagnostics
  • Support bring-up, debugging, and testing of prototype robots
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive electrical engineering design reviews and best practices

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience with motor controls (motor starts, VFDs, DC drives, etc.)
  • Strong PCB design and layout skills using tools like Altium or KiCad
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery systems, BMS hardware/software, and power distribution
  • Proficiency with embedded system interfaces (FDCAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, USB) and STM32 microcontrollers
  • Experience developing products for large volume production
  • Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and motor test benches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience specifically in robotics or advanced control systems
