Responsibilities

• Define pedagogy, write lessons, practice exercises, and craft assessments for grades 3–6 ELA
• Sequence lessons to align with cognitive development and learning progressions
• Apply expertise in the science of reading to ensure content is evidence-based and standards-aligned
• Partner with designers, behavioral scientists, and technologists to bring the virtual teacher to life
• Integrate motivational principles like self-determination theory into content design
• Apply AI and generative AI tools to accelerate content creation workflows
• Establish repeatable systems for creating large-scale content modules efficiently

Requirements

• 5+ years of classroom teaching experience in grades 3–6 ELA
• Meaningful experience in edtech or digital content creation on a product team
• Strong background in instructional design for digital and interactive environments
• Deep understanding of literacy development and the science of reading
• Excellent written communication skills for student and educator audiences
• Ability to work at a startup pace and manage multiple workstreams
• Comfort working with multidisciplinary teams and incomplete information

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing content for adaptive or personalized learning systems
• Familiarity with self-determination theory or motivational frameworks
• Proficiency with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini
• Graduate-level training in education, instructional design, or learning sciences
• Experience with content production workflows and systems
