Senior EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Serve as a technical expert providing advice and interpretation of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate and perform EHS training for new employees, contractors, and existing staff.
• Oversee the First Response Team Program and provide onsite support during emergencies.
• Manage Industrial Hygiene (IH) testing for sound and personal exposures, including respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs.
• Coordinate chemical procurement, SDS management, and hazardous material/waste tracking.
• Perform internal audits for EHS and Facility Engineering, including ISO 14001 and OSHA VPP programs.
• Manage workers' compensation documentation, OSHA 300 logs, and PPE procurement.

Requirements

• BS degree in Safety or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of professional safety experience.
• Strong regulatory knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and IDEM.
• Proven experience with Industrial Hygiene Monitoring and requirements.
• Expertise in hazardous material (HAZMAT) and hazardous waste management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and lead.
