Senior EHS Engineer

Responsibilities

• Initiate, engineer, and manage environmental projects to enhance facility compliance with Water and Air regulations.
• Perform monthly and annual reporting required by EPA, PRASA, EQB, DNER, and corporate requirements.
• Manage regulatory inspections from agencies including EPA, PRASA, EQB, and DNER.
• Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) and serve as a Lead Auditor for internal audits.
• Develop and implement environmental procedures, including SPCC and SWPPP plans.
• Oversee the facility recycling program and manage associated service providers.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and manage root cause investigations for non-conformances.
• Provide training on environmental programs to plant personnel and supervise related contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with EPA regulations and environmental laws.
• Demonstrated experience in project management of environmental capital projects.
• Experience with environmental permitting, specifically NSR/NESHAP requirements.
• Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand in both English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in using personal computers and current software for data entry and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• WWTP Operator Certification.
• Certified ISO 14001 Auditor.
• Experience designing and implementing improvements to waste and recycle streams.
