Senior Ecologist

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in complex environmental projects, including environmental impact assessments (MKB) and permitting processes.
• Conduct nature value inventories in accordance with Swedish standards (SS199000).
• Perform specialized ecological analyses regarding species protection, Natura 2000, and strategic environmental advice.
• Act as a senior consultant by developing new services, improving working methods, and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and international experts on projects involving energy transition, infrastructure, and biodiversity.

Requirements

• Master's degree in biology, conservation, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in ecology (e.g., consulting, academia, or government agencies).
• Extensive experience with nature value inventories (SS199000) across various habitat types.
• Strong knowledge of the Swedish Environmental Code (Miljöbalken).
• Fluency in Swedish (both written and spoken) with experience writing technical reports.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel for fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in ArcGIS.
• Specialist knowledge in two or more specific species groups.
• Proven leadership skills or experience in project management.
• Previous experience working in a consulting environment.
