Senior Earthworks Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project take-off and cost estimates for earthworks projects, including materials, labor, and equipment
• Review project plans, specifications, and documents to identify cost drivers
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and business development managers for accurate estimates
• Develop estimation Standard Operating Procedures and templates for lean, fast, and low-risk bidding
• Participate in site walks and customer interactions to scope project bidding processes
• Monitor project costs during construction to identify variances early
• Assist in negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in earthworks or heavy civil projects
• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Trimble, B2W, or Agtek
• Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates and winning complex projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel to job sites across Texas
• Willingness to relocate to Austin, TX if not within commuting distance
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment
