Senior Dynamics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground test and flight data
• Perform dynamic simulations including modal, acoustic, random vibration, sine harmonic, and transient
• Define test requirements and support testing of vehicle subsystems
• Perform, validate, and document structural analyses of primary and secondary launch vehicle structures
• Implement new theory and tools and establish best practices in dynamics and load derivation
• Conduct peer reviews of analyses and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Marine industries
• Demonstrated experience with vibration and shock testing
• Experience with sensor selection and data post-processing (accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples)
• Experience with static and dynamic structural test methods (Modal, Acoustic, Random vibration, Sine burst, Shock)
• Expertise in engineering programming and data analysis, specifically Python
• Experience with finite element modelling and analysis using industry standard FEA packages (Femap/NX Nastran, Abaqus, or Optistruct)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in vibroacoustic modelling
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including conventional and additive manufacturing
• Experience using NX CAD and Teamcenter
