Senior Drug Discovery Scientist

About the Company

Axiom is building a compounding ecosystem to replace animal testing and, over time, reshape how clinical trials are run. The company focuses on building world-class datasets and agentic systems that accurately predict human drug outcomes, currently solving drug-induced liver injury for top pharma companies.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship agentic tools and data systems to predict human drug outcomes
• Own customer deliverables end to end, including data generation, QC/QA, and computational analysis
• Partner with drug hunters at pharma companies and AI researchers to build experimental datasets
• Deploy agentic systems into real discovery workflows to inform go/no-go decisions
• Collaborate across chemistry, biology, machine learning, and engineering teams
• Conduct independent analyses of data to improve quality and develop new analytical frameworks

Requirements

• Advanced degree in chemistry, cheminformatics, toxicology, or computational chemistry
• Significant experience in drug discovery with a track record of advancing programs
• Proficiency with Python, RDKit, NumPy, SQL, and Pandas
• Experience with hit-to-lead, lead-optimization, or candidate nomination
• Expertise in medicinal chemistry reasoning (SAR/SPR) and ADME/DMPK/PK/PD interpretation
• Ability to manage customer relationships and translate technical needs into analytical plans

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong computational chemistry, engineering, biochemistry, and ML ability
• Experience in both customer-facing and highly technical scientific roles
