Senior Distribution Lines Engineer, Power

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams for a wide range of utility projects, from small customer requests to large-scale system reconfigurations
• Apply engineering calculations to prepare design packages for overhead and underground power distribution systems
• Perform quality checks of design deliverables created by junior and intermediate staff to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Complete technical tasks including equipment sizing, material specification, and preparation of construction documentation
• Design and analyze distribution systems using specialized software
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during the construction phase of projects
• Manage project estimates, schedules, bids, and engineering support while maintaining client relationships

Requirements

• Engineering degree and a current P.Eng license in Ontario
• At least 10 years of experience with distribution line design (4 kV–35 kV) for overhead and underground systems
• Proficiency with non-linear powerline design software such as PLS-CADD or SPIDAcalc
• Strong knowledge of utility standards, CSA standards, and powerline construction techniques
• Proven ability to lead and direct teams of engineers, designers, and drafters
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance safety, cost, and performance
