Senior Distribution Health & Safety Trainer

Responsibilities

• Deliver compliant powered industrial truck (PIT) training, including classroom instruction and hands-on evaluations
• Train and certify workers on various vehicles such as cherry pickers, reach forklifts, and scissor lifts
• Develop and maintain standard work processes and instructional materials, including training guides and videos
• Coordinate new hire training plans with area leaders to ensure timely and accurate onboarding
• Maintain electronic databases for forklift training status, job training levels, and documentation compliance
• Conduct safety audits and observations to ensure adherence to defined protocols
• Review operator performance with management and devise remedial coaching or training plans
• Support a culture of safety by implementing programs and sharing industry best practices across distribution centers

Requirements

• Forklift Train-the-Trainer Certification required
• Proficiency in operating and training others on Powered Industrial Trucks
• 3-5+ years of forklift trainer experience preferred
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak effectively before groups
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Detail-oriented approach with a strict adherence to safety policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 certification
• Experience with Raymond or Jungheinrich equipment
• Experience with WMS and Oracle
