Senior Distributed Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of Oracle database platforms and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments
• Perform testing of database software, utilities, and patches in test environments prior to production rollout
• Manage authentication and authorization, including user account maintenance and database audit procedures
• Schedule database backup tasks and execute recovery tasks during disaster recovery exercises
• Perform routine maintenance such as data compression, defragmentation, and load balancing
• Manage various Oracle services under OCI, including Oracle Fusion, OIC, ATP, VBCS, and OAC
• Administer OCI IAM, policies, compartments, security lists, NSGs, and Vault
• Design, deploy, and manage OCI environments across multiple regions and availability domains
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, and performance issues
• Maintain operational database documentation, including SQL Disaster Recovery and performance tuning standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in database administration
• Proven experience with the installation, customization, testing, and maintenance of database systems in a production environment
• Expertise in Oracle database maintenance and OCI administration
• Strong knowledge of disaster recovery protocols and execution

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in an IT-related field
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Extensive knowledge of multiple database disciplines and recovery technologies for geographically dispersed systems
