Senior Director/Vice President, Chemistry Experiment

Responsibilities

• Lead the chemistry organization and establish strategic direction for discovery and platform efforts
• Build an experimental chemistry function spanning organic, inorganic, molecules, nanoparticles, and process chemistry
• Collaborate with Product, AI, and Engineering leadership to establish AI-driven experimentation
• Cultivate scientific rigor and scale the chemistry team to support scientific superintelligence development
• Drive chemistry strategy in conjunction with senior advisors

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
• 12+ years of experience in chemistry research
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing chemistry teams
• Deep expertise in synthetic organic/inorganic and nanochemistry, retrosynthesis, and route design
• Experience in process chemistry, formulation development, and analytical chemistry
• Ability to work in highly interdisciplinary environments (materials science, biology, automation, computational sciences)
• Strong track record of scientific leadership and program delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI-enabled discovery or integrating machine learning into chemistry workflows
• Experience building automated, robotics-enabled, or high-throughput chemistry platforms
• Experience translating chemistry needs into platform requirements and instrumentation selection
• Prior leadership experience at a growth-stage biotech or deep-tech company
