About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide independent oversight, analytics, and insight on the total portfolio risk across public and private assets
- Partner with investment management to support portfolio construction, strategic decision-making, and risk governance
- Lead the asset stress testing function and collaborate with the Actuarial team on asset/liability scenarios
- Identify and assess emerging risks, including the impact of artificial intelligence and disruptive technologies
- Oversee the development and implementation of quantitative methodologies, models, and advanced risk analytics
- Drive risk management innovation in risk factor modeling, cross-asset correlation, and tail-risk analysis
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, HR, IT, and Legal divisions
- Mentor and develop risk professionals to build a sustainable, high-performing Total Portfolio Risk capability
Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Finance, Science, Engineering, or Business)
- Minimum 12 years of investment risk management experience, specifically within the pension industry
- Deep expertise in both public assets (including complex derivatives) and private assets (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Equity, Private Credit)
- Hands-on experience with stress testing frameworks and incorporating macroeconomic conditions into scenario design
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing professional teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence multi-stakeholder governance processes
- CFA designation is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a quantitative field
- Experience with risk systems such as Aladdin Risk or Ortec
- Previous experience in coding and software development
- Experience building and maintaining risk policies and reporting structures
