Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to scale sensitive biological reactions into robust industrial processes
• Establish a framework for tech transfer from R&D into Manufacturing
• Architect and execute a multi-year automation strategy for enzymatic gene synthesis
• Partner with Software teams to implement real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Define and track KPIs including throughput capacity, cycle time, and yield
• Partner with Quality leadership to build systems for ISO 9001/13485 readiness
• Collaborate with the COO on future facility build-outs and equipment strategy

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience with BS/MS)
• 10+ years of experience in biotech technical operations or manufacturing
• 5+ years of experience leading automation-centric organizations or teams
• Expert-level knowledge of liquid handling programming and custom hardware integration
• Proven track record of scaling processes from R&D to high-volume commercial production
• Experience in nucleic acid synthesis, synthetic biology, or genomics tools preferred
