Senior Director, Sports Retail Operations

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance retail efficiency and effectiveness
• Implement and monitor operational procedures and best practices across all locations
• Lead and mentor a team of store managers, associates, e-commerce managers, merchandisers, and buyers
• Manage budgets for retail operations, ensuring cost control and maximizing profitability
• Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, replenishment, and shrinkage control
• Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and the omni-channel shopping experience
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for timely product delivery
• Monitor item sales and implement markdowns to manage slow-selling merchandise

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sports Retail Management, or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience in sports retail operations
• At least 5 years in a senior management or director-level role supporting annual sales budgets of $15M+
• Proven track record managing arena/stadium retail, pop-ups, webstores, and brick-and-mortar locations
• Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, budgets, and financial forecasting
• Experience with POS systems and e-commerce platforms
• Ability to attend all Seattle Kraken home games and designated team events onsite

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree
• Expertise in Sports Licensing and NHL retail
• Experience with digital transformation and change management
