About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead SEC reporting strategy and execution, including preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy statements
  • Coordinate with Legal, FP&A, and Stock Administration for disclosure data
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
  • Establish and evolve a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance framework
  • Develop company-wide financial reporting policies and governance structures
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions in compliance with US GAAP
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the SEC reporting and SOX organization
  • Oversee external audit relationships and third-party advisors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting (or post-graduate degree)
  • 15+ years of experience in finance/accounting
  • 12+ years of experience in public accounting or related industry
  • 6+ years of technical accounting focus with US GAAP proficiency
  • Extensive experience leading SEC reporting and SOX compliance in a public company
  • Experience building and scaling teams in high-growth environments
  • Strong understanding of SEC regulations and internal control frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Biotech or life sciences industry experience
  • Experience with SAP S4/Hana and ActiveDisclosure
  • CPA, CIA, or similar professional certification
