Senior Director, Science, Innovation, & Development

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage scientific and research operations
• Oversee development of new products in AI, Meteorology, and Scientific Disciplines
• Lead the definition and development of the Next Generation Weather Forecasting System
• Drive corporate innovation in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing
• Create new data products for media and business services portfolios
• Evaluate and prioritize an ongoing pipeline of new ideas
• Define and create early proof of concepts in collaboration with the Product Office
• Manage budgets, resourcing needs, and project timelines
• Lead collaborations with academic research partners and other companies
• Recommend acquisitions when appropriate

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Meteorology, Statistics, or related field
• 10 years of experience in a similar leadership position
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence, specifically Deep Learning and Neural Networks
• Prior experience leading teams of 5-10 individuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of meteorological data
