Senior Director, Protein Analytics & Biophysics

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the multi-year scientific and organizational vision for Protein Analytics & Biophysics
• Define next-generation biophysical, biochemical, and protein-protein interaction measurement capabilities
• Lead the evolution of conventional analytical workflows including HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, and biosensor-based platforms
• Partner with Prototyping, Automation, Data Sciences, and Machine Learning teams to scale new assay concepts
• Establish data standards and analytical frameworks for high-throughput measurements used in model training
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of managers and senior scientists
• Manage external collaborations, CRO strategy, and vendor partnerships

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline
• 12+ years of experience in biopharma, biotechnology, or protein engineering
• Substantial leadership experience in protein analytics and biophysics
• Track record of building or scaling novel assay platforms (miniaturized, pooled, or microfluidic)
• Deep technical expertise in HPLC/UPLC, LC/MS, SPR, BLI, and related technologies
• Strong quantitative mindset with experience in assay statistics and informatics
• Proven success as a senior people leader managing multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting machine learning-enabled discovery and closed-loop experimental systems
• Experience with DNA-encoded or barcode-linked readouts and sequencing-based measurements
• Experience with microfluidics, acoustic dispensing, or next-generation automation
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations for candidate selection and early development
