Senior Director, Product Unit - Surface Modification

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Surface Modification (SM) Group, managing a multidisciplinary organization of 25–30 professionals.
• Define and execute the strategic vision and growth roadmap for Surface Modification technologies, including standalone products and integrated modules.
• Collaborate with Key Product Unit (KPU) and Global Product Marketing (GPM) leadership to align innovation with business objectives.
• Ensure operational excellence across development programs, meeting quality, cost, and timeline commitments.
• Partner with key customers and the Key Account Technology (KAT) team to understand evolving needs and secure product qualifications.
• Drive organizational development by building leadership capacity and managing seasoned managers and technical professionals.
• Contribute to long-term strategic planning and shape the company’s technology portfolio in advanced materials engineering.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 13+ years of progressive experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in capital equipment.
• Significant leadership experience in surface engineering, process technology, or adjacent domains (CVD, PVD, plasma treatment, etc.).
• Proven track record of incubating and delivering new product platforms from concept through commercialization.
• Demonstrated success leading managers and senior technical professionals.
• Strong customer orientation and experience navigating technical engagements with global semiconductor manufacturers.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
