Senior Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Define and own the delivery strategy and roadmap for large-scale, cross-team engineering programs.
• Drive end-to-end program execution, including planning, resourcing, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Partner with Principal Engineers and Architecture leads to translate technical vision into actionable delivery plans.
• Lead delivery through organizational or technical changes, such as platform migrations and team restructures.
• Accountable for quality and production stability, encompassing test automation, performance benchmarking, and incident management.
• Serve as the primary interface between Engineering, Product, and Executive leadership regarding program status and trade-offs.
• Mentor and develop technical managers and delivery leads to build a strong leadership pipeline.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in end-to-end technical project or program delivery.
• 5+ years of experience at the Director level.
• Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure (EKS, networking, serverless, IAM).
• Proficiency in API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs regarding consistency models, service boundaries, and resilience.
• Strong command of modern delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
