Senior Director of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Define and execute delivery strategies and roadmaps for large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs.
• Lead end-to-end program execution, including resource management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Drive strategic platform development and multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation.
• Partner with Principal Engineers and Architecture leads to translate technical vision into actionable plans.
• Establish and optimize delivery frameworks, governance models, and reporting cadences.
• Proactively identify and resolve systemic risks, technical debt, and cross-team dependencies.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Product, and Executive leadership.
• Mentor and develop technical managers and delivery leads to foster a robust leadership pipeline.

Requirements

• 15+ years of end-to-end technical program delivery experience, including at least 5 years at the Director level.
• Deep expertise in API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) and AWS cloud proficiency (EKS, serverless, IAM).
• Extensive experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Proven experience in AI/ML, Large Language Models (LLM), and Generative AI.
• Strong ability to assess architectural designs and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Mastery of modern delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on coding experience and ability to work at the code level.
