Senior Director of Philanthropy

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 75–100 principal and major gift prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Solicit major gifts of $50,000 or more, with an emphasis on six- and seven-figure gifts
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies in collaboration with the Executive Director and Vice President
• Write compelling proposals for assigned prospects and assist with institutional priority-setting
• Provide leadership and mentorship to colleagues within the philanthropy division
• Build effective working relationships with campus leaders, faculty, and senior administration
• Document all substantive donor interactions and monitor engagement activity in the database
• Support relationships with the Board of Trustees and key individual donors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• At least six years of progressively responsible experience in development
• Proven experience in major gift solicitation and stewardship
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree
• Experience in volunteer management and comprehensive donor relations
• Knowledge of planned giving, financial, and estate planning concepts
