About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary financial officer, directing all aspects of finance and accounting functions.
  • Provide leadership for the evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, consolidation, and corporate reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly and annual financial reports and cash flow projections.
  • Maintain a system of adequate internal controls over accounting and financial management transactions.
  • Act as the primary interface with federal and donor-specific auditors.
  • Ensure proper submission of incurred cost proposals and NICRA revisions.
  • Supervise the Controller and the Internal Controls and Financial Compliance Manager.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management to analyze the financial impact of strategic business decisions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field, substantial relevant coursework, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Working knowledge of USAID and USG contracts in a for-profit environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAR and AIDAR.
  • Experience with indirect cost submissions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage staff at remote locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, ReQlogic, Unanet, ADP Workforce, or QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of private foundations, bilateral, and multi-lateral donors.
  • International experience in a developing country setting and foreign language skills.
