About the Company

Helion is a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Since 2013, Helion has raised $1.5 billion to propel the development of its fusion technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing and assembly of fusion generators and subscale plasma devices
  • Manage leaders of the Integration, Magnet Assembly, Fabrication, and Machining teams
  • Establish strategic machine shop capabilities to support prototyping and long-term scalability
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve production planning and material flow
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback to improve product reliability and cost
  • Develop long-term manufacturing strategies, including make-versus-buy decisions and capital investment planning
  • Oversee partnerships with general contractors and EPC firms for generator construction and commissioning
  • Lead the team integrating and building the first fusion power plant in Malaga, Washington

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, or heavy equipment industries
  • Proven success scaling engineering and manufacturing organizations from prototyping to high-volume production
  • Extensive experience leading end-to-end engineering and manufacturing programs
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership in production planning and capacity management
  • Strong foundation in financial and operational management (CapEx, KPIs, manufacturing costs)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical field
