About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to provide national field strategic leadership within the gastroenterology therapeutic area.
- Coach and develop team members through field visits, providing scientific and role-specific feedback to foster professional growth.
- Develop and implement regional field medical strategies aligned with business unit and medical affairs objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal medical, development, and commercial teams to maximize medical-commercial interactions.
- Oversee MSL activities at medical congresses, including strategy development, messaging guidance, and symposium planning.
- Ensure team compliance with all applicable policies, laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Analyze MSL activity data to drive operational excellence and improve team performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of formal people leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry, clinical, or medical experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
- Ability to travel up to 50-75%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PharmD, M.D., Ph.D.) or Master's in health sciences (RN, RPh, PA, NP).
- Prior experience in scientific or field strategy with strong business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and work successfully across different business units and leadership levels.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience building professional networks.
