Senior Director, Gene Editing Services

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic vision for gene editing service offerings
• Oversee end-to-end operations of the gene editing services division, including budgeting and capacity planning
• Serve as the principal scientific authority for high-value client engagements and technical consultation
• Lead technical due diligence for partnership and licensing discussions
• Direct the internal technology portfolio to advance novel editing modalities and delivery systems
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a multidisciplinary team of scientists

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Engineering
• 12–15 years of experience in gene editing or genome engineering
• 5–7 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
• 5 years of experience managing client-facing scientific services or research partnerships
• Deep expertise in CRISPR-Cas systems, base editors, and prime editors
• Proficiency in NGS-based off-target analysis and viral/non-viral delivery platforms
• Experience with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, EMA, or USDA-APHIS

Preferred Qualifications

• Postdoctoral training in genome engineering or functional genomics
• M.B.A. or equivalent business management credential
• Prior experience in a CRO, CDMO, or biotechnology platform company
