Senior Director, Federal Government Relations

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of federal government relations strategies to implement legislative and policy goals.
• Advocate for Viatris' business interests before Congress, relevant federal agencies, and the Administration.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with policymakers and participate in staff-level coalition work groups.
• Develop and maintain communications with Congressional staff and Administration officials to establish Viatris as a policy leader.
• Analyze key legislative issues and their potential impact on the company's competitive business interests.
• Create advocacy materials, including draft legislative language, policy briefs, fact sheets, and issue messages.
• Collaborate with State Government Relations, the Office of Global Policy, and other internal functions to enhance policy presence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree in business, law, or policy is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in federal government affairs or public/health policy (10+ years strongly preferred).
• Proven track record of developing federal legislative campaigns and navigating regulatory processes.
• Deep knowledge of federal healthcare programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and DOD.
• Established relationships with policymakers, Congressional committees, key staff, and federal agencies.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize complex issues.
