Senior Director, Events and Engagement

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate high-impact events and engagement initiatives to support fundraising, alumni relations, and donor stewardship.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy to enhance institutional visibility and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
• Serve as a strategic advisor and project lead for major university and presidential events.
• Collaborate across University Advancement, the Office of the President, academic colleges, and athletics to coordinate signature experiences.
• Manage event budgets, vendors, and multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Create innovative engagement opportunities that foster philanthropic support and deepen connections to the university.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in communications, hospitality management, public relations, marketing, or a related field).
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in event management, advancement, alumni relations, or public affairs.
• Proven experience planning and executing complex, high-profile events for senior leaders and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in budget management and vendor coordination.
• Strong leadership experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driver eligibility under university policy.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in higher education, nonprofit fundraising, or campaign environments.
• Knowledge of donor engagement strategies and advancement best practices.
• Experience supporting executive leadership and coordinating presidential-level events.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms, event management systems, and event analytics tools.
