Senior Director/Director Engineering, Retail Technology

Responsibilities

• Drive execution excellence by leading the end-to-end delivery of new features and boutique technologies
• Simplify the boutique experience by auditing and consolidating store-side tools to reduce cognitive load for associates
• Define the global strategy for store hardware, including POS, handhelds, and peripherals
• Own the Mobile Device Management (MDM) roadmap for zero-touch provisioning and manage the Terminal Management System (TMS)
• Orchestrate omnichannel integration by partnering with Digital teams on initiatives like BOPIS and unified inventory
• Architect an "Edge-first" store environment to ensure infrastructure resilience and minimize latency
• Collaborate with Engineering Enablement to adopt standardized tooling and CI/CD practices
• Manage strategic partnerships with System Integrators and Managed Service partners

Requirements

• Expert understanding of the software and hardware lifecycle in a premium retail environment (POS, PCI/P2PE, Clienteling)
• Advanced experience with mobile device management platforms for large-scale fleets
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional engineering organizations
• Track record of simplifying complex enterprise architectures to improve end-user experience
• Strong understanding of SRE, automation, and observability tools like Datadog or New Relic
• Strategic leadership skills with the ability to translate technical roadmaps into business value
