About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead WWF-US’s corporate forest engagement strategy to deliver measurable progress on avoiding deforestation and forest degradation
- Oversee a strategic portfolio of U.S. corporate partnerships across priority sectors and geographies
- Steward high-profile partnerships and ensure alignment with target-setting frameworks and regulatory expectations
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, including setting priorities, managing performance, and coaching
- Engage with financial institutions and investors to integrate forest-related risks and opportunities into decision-making
- Develop and implement sustainable funding and cost-recovery models for corporate engagement
- Represent WWF-US Forests team on multi-stakeholder coalitions and external forums
- Manage initiative budgets and advance innovative approaches to private sector–focused solutions
- Ensure all engagements uphold WWF’s social safeguards and support the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities
Requirements
- Advanced academic training (graduate degree or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years in corporate sustainability, forestry, or international natural resource commodities
- Deep knowledge of global forest and trade issues, deforestation-free sourcing, and disclosure frameworks (e.g., SBTiFLAG, SBTN, TNFD)
- Knowledge of relevant policies such as EUDR, CSRD, and CSDDD
- Proven experience managing complex corporate partnerships and influencing corporate decision-making
- Demonstrated leadership in matrixed global organizations
- Track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering measurable results
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- High proficiency in English; additional fluency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin is a strong asset
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
