Senior Director, Compliance

Responsibilities

• Lead the second line of defense by establishing global risk frameworks and translating complex laws into actionable policies
• Design and mature the global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and FinCrime compliance framework
• Serve as the named Canadian AML Compliance Officer (CAMLO) and other required regulatory officer roles
• Maintain Canadian AML/ATF compliance program requirements under PCMLTFA and FINTRAC guidance
• Establish AML/ATF program obligations in other jurisdictions including France (TRACFIN) and the EU
• Own the design and maturation of the transaction monitoring program and governance
• Oversee the Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) and Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) filing processes
• Lead monitoring and interpretation of regulatory requirements for content moderation, including the EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
• Develop and oversee compliance strategy for state charitable solicitation laws and fundraising disclosure
• Architect and maintain a global risk assessment framework focused on FinCrime
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, law enforcement, and legislative staff

Requirements

• 12-15 years of compliance experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or highly regulated technology
• Deep expertise in AML, BSA/ATF, and FinCrime across multiple jurisdictions
• Hands-on experience with FINTRAC and TRACFIN
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian AML/ATF requirements (PCMLTFA, PCMLTFR)
• Senior-level experience serving as a named compliance officer (CAMLO, BSA Officer, or equivalent)
• Proven track record of building and maturing compliance programs from scratch
• Ability to influence C-suite leadership and drive cross-functional alignment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with content moderation compliance frameworks (DSA, CSAM)
• Experience with charitable fundraising law or multi-state solicitation compliance
• JD, CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent professional credentials
