About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the co-design of inclusive community bioeconomy finance strategies and architectures across priority landscapes.
  • Strengthen local financial ecosystems by supporting the development and scaling of locally governed institutions like SACCOs and community banks.
  • Mobilize catalytic capital and philanthropic support to test and scale community finance models.
  • Structure blended finance vehicles, public-private partnerships, or results-based finance mechanisms.
  • Provide strategic oversight of financial modeling for early-stage nature-based enterprises.
  • Build and steward relationships with Indigenous leaders, governments, DFIs, and investors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in development finance, impact investment, or project finance.
  • Advanced degree in economics, finance, economic development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with local financial institutions (e.g., credit unions, rural banks).
  • Experience designing blended finance structures or catalytic capital mechanisms.
  • Practical experience with bioeconomy enterprises in developing country contexts.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
