Senior Director, Cloud Security, Compliance Lead

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain cloud security strategy, reference architectures, and security baselines for AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Establish IAM least privilege, network segmentation, and centralized logging across cloud-native services and Kubernetes
• Develop and improve policies aligned to NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR/CCPA
• Lead data protection programs including classification, minimization, and lifecycle management
• Manage third-party risk assessments and vendor security questionnaires
• Oversee security controls for identity, encryption, and key management
• Ensure secure data movement and isolation for ML/AI training and inference workflows
• Partner with Engineering, IT, and Legal to translate security requirements into actionable tasks
• Create security documentation, runbooks, and evidence packs for audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 5–8+ years in cloud security or information security
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong understanding of IAM, encryption, KMS, and network security
• Familiarity with Kubernetes security (RBAC, network policies)
• Experience with policy-as-code (OPA, Kyverno, Checkov)
• Knowledge of software supply chain security (SBOMs, Sigstore/Cosign)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
• Experience with data-intensive research, HPC, or bioinformatics workloads
• Familiarity with model governance in ML/AI contexts
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or JavaScript for automation
