Senior Director, Business Development

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of business development transactions including in-licensing, out-licensing, and research collaborations
• Coordinate cross-functional diligence processes involving R&D, clinical, regulatory, legal, and finance teams
• Develop business cases, valuation frameworks, and competitive assessments
• Structure and negotiate term sheets, letters of intent, and definitive agreements
• Support preparation of presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors
• Build and maintain relationships with biotechnology peers, pharmaceutical companies, and academic institutions
• Support alliance transition and post-signing governance
• Partner with internal leaders to drive alignment on external opportunities
• Contribute to corporate planning, portfolio prioritization, and strategic reviews

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in biotech/life sciences business development
• Specific experience in technology licensing or tech transfer
• Deep understanding of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial therapeutic development dynamics
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex transactions
• Ability to operate with executive-level visibility and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MBA, or JD)
• Experience in a public company environment
