About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the WWF-US strategic plan for the Amazon region
- Oversee program execution to ensure delivery of strategic results and annual goals
- Represent WWF-US with external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and financial institutions
- Lead fundraising efforts and build public awareness through comprehensive campaigns
- Manage and lead a priority place team of direct and indirect reports
- Provide leadership for forest conservation efforts across the broader Latin American region
Requirements
- Master's degree in biological conservation, natural resources management, international development, or related field
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in complex conservation project management
- Extensive field experience in the Amazon
- Proven experience networking with key Amazon regional players
- High level of diplomatic skills for negotiating with government officials
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
