Senior Director, Amazon & Latin American Forests

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the WWF-US strategic plan for the Amazon region
• Oversee program execution to ensure delivery of strategic results and annual goals
• Represent WWF-US with external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and financial institutions
• Lead fundraising efforts and build public awareness through comprehensive campaigns
• Manage and lead a priority place team of direct and indirect reports
• Provide leadership for forest conservation efforts across the broader Latin American region

Requirements

• Master's degree in biological conservation, natural resources management, international development, or related field
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in complex conservation project management
• Extensive field experience in the Amazon
• Proven experience networking with key Amazon regional players
• High level of diplomatic skills for negotiating with government officials
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
